New Construction and Renovation @ Wells
Wells' campus continues to be a vibrant community in which to learn and live. Renovations and new construction projects take place within the framework of our historic campus setting.
Our newest campus project is the installation of an artificial turf field along with new lights and a press box. The all-weather surface, to be built using environmentally-responsible materials and practices, will contribute to an exciting game day atmosphere for fans and a nationally-competitive experience for student-athletes.The project is currently in development; relevant planning documents and sample images are available.
Two campus spaces underwent construction and renovation in 2014:
Wells renovated historic Zabriskie Hall as a place for learning in the 21st Century with a series of improvements to the interior of the building. Construction was completed and the building opened for classes and campus use in fall 2014. Zabriskie is the new home of:
- Sullivan Center for Business and Entrepreneurship
- Institute for Sustainability and the Environment
- The College Store

The beautiful campus Dining Hall and its surrounding lawn have been rededicated to honor the legacy of President Emerita Lisa Marsh Ryerson '81. This included the construction of an outdoor terrace and patio that takes advantage of Wells' natural setting and scenic view of Cayuga Lake. The terrace opened for use as a campus gathering space in summer 2014!
