Campus Safety
Wells Department of Campus Safety supports the overall educational mission of Wells College by providing a safe, friendly and welcoming environment for students, visitors, faculty and staff to live, learn, work, and play.
Located in the Bellinzoni Building, adjacent to Main Building, The Department of Campus
Safety is staffed by a team of professionals whose primary function is to work with
the Wells community to provide for the security and safety at both on-campus and off-campus
locations. The Department strives to achieve a balance between enforcement, education,
and community expectations in our daily interactions with students, staff, and visitors
to Wells College.
Our Campus Safety Officers are N.Y.S. Licensed Security Guards and have additional training in emergency procedures, First Aid, CPR, AED, and a wide variety of law enforcement and crisis intervention skills. Campus Safety Officers conduct foot and vehicular patrols of campus properties and residence halls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The Department Campus Safety works to develop a strong rapport with the community through partnerships with students, staff, faculty, and various campus organizations to balance enforcement with community service. The Department also provides community-oriented policing initiatives with the goal of enhancing communication and interaction within the Wells Community.
